6 Okanagan Wines For Autumn
By Jeannette Montgomery
As longer nights and cooler days descend upon us, so does an urge to retreat indoors and spend quality time with those we care for. The weather has us reaching for our favourite comfort foods: stews, slow-cookery items, and rich flavours. In BC’s Okanagan, there’s a wine (or six) to meet those robust meals and lingering evening gatherings. Don’t get caught without one or more of these delicious delights on hand.

From Okanagan Falls the Noble Ridge 2011 Chardonnay Reserve $24 got some love from the judges of The World Wine Awards for its nutty, baked apple, citrus aromas and fresh elegant attack. A perfect fall white for a savoury roasted chicken or turkey. Well done.

Osoyoos Oyster Wine Festival Competition Overall Winner awarded to Noble Ridge!
Noble Ridge “The One” Sparkling 2010 just won the Osoyoos Oyster Wine Festival Competition! Chosen as Overall Winner out of 119 wines.
Here is what Tim Pawsey think about the winning “The One” Sparkling 2010:
“This ‘methode traditionelle’ popped out for its respectful nod to Champagne, with restrained oak, balanced citrus and hints of red berry with a streak of minerality. The wine played nicely off the oyster, with the flavours, texture and mouthfeel all in harmony. Interestingly, it was a runner up last year.”
