Noble Ridge’s 2019 The One Named Best Sparkling Wine at the All Canadian Wine Championships
Noble Ridge Vineyard & Winery is proud to announce that its flagship traditional-method sparkling wine, Noble Ridge 2019 The One, has been awarded Best Sparkling Wine of the Year at the All Canadian Wine Championships.
Selected from more than 1,085 wines entered from across Canada, this prestigious recognition celebrates the craftsmanship, patience, and precision behind one of British Columbia’s most acclaimed sparkling wines.
The All Canadian Wine Championships is Canada’s oldest national wine competition and one of the country’s most respected benchmarks for wine excellence. For more than four decades, the competition has brought together wines from licensed wineries across Canada, evaluated through blind tastings by an independent panel of accomplished sommeliers, wine writers, and certified judges.
Each year, only the highest-scoring wine in each major category advances to receive a coveted Trophy award, making the title of Best Sparkling Wine one of the competition’s highest distinctions.
Produced in the traditional method, Noble Ridge 2019 The One reflects the winery’s long-standing commitment to crafting world-class sparkling wine from the unique terroir of Okanagan Falls. The wine is a blend of estate-grown Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, showcasing the elegance, structure, and complexity that come from extended bottle aging and meticulous vineyard practices.
“This recognition is incredibly meaningful for everyone at Noble Ridge,” said Benoît Gauthier, COO and Director of Winemaking and Viticulture at Noble Ridge Vineyard & Winery. “Traditional-method sparkling wine is one of the most demanding styles to produce, requiring years of patience, precision, and an unwavering commitment to quality.”
The 2019 vintage of The One represents the culmination of years of refinement in the vineyard and cellar. Crafted from grapes grown at Noble Ridge’s estate vineyard in Okanagan Falls, the wine offers a refined expression of place with vibrant acidity, fine mousse, and the complexity developed through extended lees aging.
“We are incredibly honoured to receive the All Canadian Wine Championships’ Best Sparkling Wine award for a second time,” say Jim and Leslie D’Andrea, owners of Noble Ridge Vineyard & Winery. “When The One first earned this distinction, it affirmed our belief in the potential of Okanagan Falls to produce world-class wine. To receive this honour again with our 2019 vintage is both humbling and deeply rewarding. We’re grateful to our exceptional team, led by Benoît Gauthier, and to everyone who has supported Noble Ridge over the years.”
The award arrives at an exciting time for Canadian sparkling wine, as consumers and collectors continue to discover the quality and diversity being produced across the country. Noble Ridge has been dedicated to this category since its earliest days, with traditional-method sparkling wines serving as a cornerstone of the winery’s identity.
Beyond the top sparkling wine honour, Noble Ridge received additional recognition across its portfolio, earning:
- Best Sparkling Wine of the Year – 2019 The One (Traditional Method Sparkling Wine)
- Silver Medal – 2025 Unoaked Chardonnay
- Silver Medal – Coronet II (non-vintage, port-style specialty wine)
