We are delighted to share with you some remarkable reviews our wines have recently received. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the wine journalists who have eloquently spread the word about our creations. Their efforts not only elevate awareness of our wines but also empower you, our valued consumer, to make more informed and enjoyable choices.
2019 The Pink One
92 points, John Schreiner on Wine – ”This is 100% Pinot Noir. The grapes were allowed four hours of skin contact; hence, the wine’s appealing rose petal hue. The wine was on the lees for 34 months before being disgorged. The aroma delivers notes of biscuit and strawberry. The palate is a generous mouthful of raspberry and strawberry. The finish is dry.”
91 points, Anthony Gismondi – “A favourite of many at the recent National Wine Awards, this mature Rosé opens with toasted notes and crisp, dry red fruit that shout class and traditional method winemaking. Look for a mix of strawberry and raspberry mixed with red apples and cherries that stream throughout the wine, with a touch of brioche in the finish. Drink all summer on the patio with smoked salmon and cream cheese or some spicy tuna sushi rolls…”
91 points, Brad Royale, National Wine Awards – ”A rich rose hue with a fuller nose of over-ripe strawberry and freshly sliced late-harvest cherries. Nice attack with a full-bodied approach on the mid-palate. Nicely balanced wine that will look slick on any summer table.”
2017 The One – Grand Reserve
96 points, John Schreiner on Wine – “…78% Chardonnay and 22% Pinot Noir. The grapes were whole cluster pressed and the wine was fermented cool. It spent 66 months en tirage. Citrus and green apple mingle with brioche in the aroma. On the palate, there is a medley of complex flavours, including apple, pear, biscuit and almond. The mousse gives the wine a creamy texture but the finish is crisply dry.”
Shelley Boettcher, Castanet – “Mostly Chardonnay (78%) with 22% Pinot Noir, this beauty is made in the traditional method, the same way Champagne is made in France. It spends a mighty 66 months en tirage (on the yeast), a process that gives it rich toasty, nutty, baking spice flavours and aromas. There are generous hints of orange and honey, too. This wine was reserved for wine club members only but has recently been released to the public. I liked this wine by itself, serve chilled, but it would be beautiful served with oysters, smoked salmon or simple seafood appetizers. It also has plenty of heft to be a main-course wine. I’d love to try it again with roast turkey this fall at Thanksgiving.”
2018 McEachnie Vintage Blanc de Blanc
93 points, Geoffrey Moss, MW – “A classic Blanc de Blanc nose of green apple, lemon, and toasted nuts, with pronounced autolytic character of brioche and toast. There’s a real purity to the fruit, leading to a precise, textured palate with a finessed, creamy mousse that’s backed by excellent fruit concentration. Very good length.”
